The internet

Designing a web presence

Before deciding how to approach establishing a web presence, you need to decide what the site will be there to do. For instance are you using this to:

    • Provide a static advertisment for potential new customers;
    • To sell your products and services:
    • As a resource for your customers to access information or,
    • As a way to improve your service offering by acting as a help desk

Whilst the costs of designing a web site can vary tremendously depending on the amount of content and complexity involved it is often better to consider whether you should consider using software the produce your own site, or perhaps turn to one of the raft of dedicated online site builders who can reduce the time taken to produce a relatively involved site or alternatively for a truly professional look and feel, consider commissioning a web designer.

We have provided support to clients who wish to maintain their own content and would also recomend Project Cosmic for solutions that require a more complex approach.

There are some additional points to consider when looking at a web presence.

Intranet and e-commerce, installation and support, selection of hardware and software.

We have been closely involved in the transition that many of our clients have made towards the use of the Internet and the towards the use of the Internet and the commercial advantages of e-commerce. In the design of web sites and in the security issues arising from the use of the Internet we have developed a key business contacts in Project Cosmic. We would be pleased to discuss the opportunities that exist to exploit the commercial advantages of the Internet.

An intranet is an additional tool which we have assisted clients with establishing and enables access to email and a company's internal rather than external website from any location and with the increading trend towards home working is an essential way of communicating and updating staff who may not be office based.
