Recruitment

Through the expansion in the activities of the company over the last few years we are looking to recruit an assistant to the directors of the company.

The key requirement is the ability to operate calmly, credibly and efficiently in a range of situations. As you will see this may involve dealing with customers' IT issues, accountancy issues or indeed those related to the store. Throughout, numeracy and literacy, combined with he ability to communicate articulately rank far above any particular technical expertise. Our view is that knowledge can be acquired but the savoir faire to implement that knowledge cannot.

Clearly some computer skills beyond the average user are essential but we would not want to be prescriptive. Examples of the software used are Sage Line 50; Adobe Creative Suite and other financial and legal database software.

We would like to make a full time appointment but are very ready to consider flexible arrangements to work around family commitments but bearing in mind that there is a retail environment which can involve some unsocial hours and with IT support very occasionally there has been the need to complete tasks out of business hours.

This would be a varied and interesting position with exposure to a range of business issues and types.

Salary would be considered individually and there is neither a higher nor lower desired age.
